Sandra (Sandie) L. Bannier

Sandra (Sandie) Lorraine Bannier, 76, of West Burlington, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born September 22, 1947, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Jack and Lois Melvin Ramey. She met William Elliot Bannier square dancing and they married a few years later on December 5, 1980 in Pleasant Grove Church. 

She was graduate of West Burlington High School and later became a Registered Nurse. 

Sandie knew from a young age that she wanted to be a nurse. She pursued her passion and became a nurse working in Georgia, St. Francis, and later at Wapello Care Center.

She was a member of Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mt. Pleasant. She was a part of the prayer warriors and her faith was very important to her. She enjoyed reading and watching shows like; Little House on the Prairie, Waltons, Touched by an Angel, and any kind of mystery show. She will be remembered as being caring and compassionate as well as her distinctive laugh.

Survivors include her husband, William Bannier of West Burlington; daughter, Rachel (Brant) Wells of GA; step-son, William (Marla) Bannier of Mt. Pleasant; grandson, Ethan; step-granddaughter Amanda; three brothers, Ray (Karen) Ramey of East Providence, RI, Roy (Billie) Ramey of Clinton, UT, and Randy (Hilda) Ramey of Plainfield, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-son, Matthew Elliot Bannier.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The memorial service for Mrs. Bannier will be 2:30 PM Monday, April 22, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street with Pastor Monte Knudsen officiating. A time of light refreshments will be held in the community room at Prugh Funeral Service following the service.

Memorials have been established for Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mt. Pleasant, the American Cancer Association, Cradle of Hope, and Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
